Hollywood’s action film star Jackie Chan has expressed his love for Bollywood music and dance sequences, and added that he is waiting for the right script and film director before venturing into an Indo-Chinese Cine collaboration. Chan, who is of Chinese descent, is leading a delegation at a six-day Chinese film festival in New Delhi. Welcomed by a thundering applause, the multi-faceted action star enthralled the audiences by singing a soft-Chinese song “I love my country, I love the world” wearing his trademark smile. The film festival is a means of strengthening relations between India and China, also reflecting upon the cultures of both countries. Chan said that a collaborative project between Indian and Chinese film industry would need a bunch of good directors and writers to tell a strong story. “Yes we do need some good writer, Indian good writer who can write about China and Chinese (writer) who can write about India because for us the ordinary people, we don’t really know Indian culture, (we can know) only from the movie. We need some good directors for collaboration, production cooperation,” said Chan. The 59-year old, still brimming with the energy of a teenager said he loved watching a recent Bollywood film ‘3 Idiots’, starring superstar, Aamir Khan. “Lately I saw that movie, 3 Idiots and I loved the music and the songs. Actually when I was doing a film called ‘The Myth’, I thought can I have an Indian version, for dancing with Mallika (Bollywood actress, Mallika Sherawat),” he said. Chan acted in a 2005, fantasy-action film ‘The Myth’, that also starred Bollywood actress, Mallika Sherawat in a supporting role. A special screening of Chan’s new directorial venture ‘Chinese Zodiac’ has been scheduled for Tuesday evening. It is an action adventure film in which he plays the protagonist, who is searching the world for a set of mystic artefacts-12 bronze heads of the animals from the Chinese zodiac.
