Nawaz Sharif’s ‘million dollar watch’ rumours go viral on Twitter

After a member of the National Assembly claimed a Pakistan People’s Party leader wore a ‘million dollar watch’, Twitter reports have claimed that the leader was none other than Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The watch in question is the Louis Moinet ‘Meteoris’, which has been estimated to be worth a whopping $4.6 million.

According to a local media report, calling the latest budget to be anti-people and made for the rich, MNA Shazia Marri had claimed that such a budget can only be expected of party leaders who are fond of wearing such expensive personal items.

According to the report, Marri said that she researched on the price of the watch and believed that the owner must have got it insured.

A tweet about the incident said that the country’s problem is not finances but terrorism.

Another PML-N member said that it is unbelievable for someone to wear such a costly watch, the report added.

The Louis Moinet ‘Meteoris’ has pieces of meteorites in each watch. Moinet teamed up with meteorite hunter Luc Labenne to collect pieces from the moon, a Mars meteorite, and an asteroid to be put in these watches.

    • Question is how did he get so rich, from only one Ittefaq foundry in 1985 which was about to close due to bank defaults.

    • That is approximately 46 crore rupees, it can feed 460,000 poor And poverty stricken families for at least six months. And yes someone who pays 5000 rupees tax to this nation. Shame, I wonder how much of this he going to take with him to his grave.

His companies are running in loss but in London they are constructing a huge building in Ilford where that money came from which source? Was the money came to London through legal channels or money laundering ? Let the public of Pakistan and media shed a bit of light on his wealth and huge money laundering which is not difficult in this age

  52. Our PM deserves everything he has. Why are we judging him so harshly.? He is rich, famous and genuinely elected . What conerns me is not what he is wearing on his hand but what he has in mind. If he delivers on what he has promised we should buy him another one. I have a similar one too but unfortunately i bought it from a street vendor in New York.

It will be soon when Pakistani hawks who are involved in money laundering will be investigated Some investigations are in progress against MQM leaders and next may be PML N They can be asked where did they get the money from to built a huge building complex in Ilford Essex?   59. I know many people who are disillusioned with Mr Nawaz Sharif because he was seen wearing a $ 4.6 million watch in the National Assembly. I really don’t know what the fuss is all about. The money spent on the watch could have purchased only seven bungalows in Karachi’s posh DHA. Only seven. And this money could have bought food for only two thousand Pakistanis for a year. You have to bear in mind that a prime minister’s job is very stressful, so he has the right to spend as much money as he wants to maintain his sanity, since his other addiction, food highly saturated with fats, is not enough to keep him calm in a crisis. So go ahead, Mr. Prime Minister, we’re with you, you and your ministers can buy as many million dollar watches as you want.
