IHC adjourns Musharraf’s Lal Masjid case for non-payment of court dues

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday adjourned the hearing of a petition regarding registration of a murder case against former military ruler General(R)Pervez Musharraf in Lal Masjid case as the petitioner could not pay the court fee.

A single-member bench of Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi conducted the proceedings of the plea filed by Haroon Rasheed, son of Gazi Abbdul Rashid, through his counsel Tariq Asad against the murder of his father and grandmother in the Lal Masjid operation.

During the course of the hearing, Justice Qureshi directed Tariq Asad, counsel for the petitioner, to deposit the court fee before arguing the case and adjourned the matter.

In earlier hearing, the court had issued a notice to Aabpara Police

SHO and sought a reply within seven days.

Tariq Asad, counsel for the petitioner, had informed the bench that

Ghazi Abdul Rashid and his mother Sahiba had been killed during a military operation ordered by then president Pervez Musharraf.

He claimed that in the “silence operation”, a large number of innocent persons, including boys and girls, had been killed.
