The Supreme Court (SC) has given more time to the parties concerned in ephedrine quota case and adjourned the hearing until next week.
A two-member bench, led by Justice Khilji Arif, heard the ephedrine quota case on Monday.
Senior officials of the Anti-narcotics Force (ANF) and other institutions appeared in the court. Counsel for the ANF requested the court to hear the petitions as soon as possible because other matters were pending. Mujeeb Pirzada requested the court he has been appointed counsel in this case and he has to make preparations in this regard. He urged the court to hear the case after summer vacation.
The court rejected his plea saying no longer adjournment could be given in this case and adjourned the hearing until next week.
