At least 43 peacocks died in different areas of Tharparkar due to the viral disease ‘Ranikhet’.
According to an official of the Sindh wildlife department, the number of birds dead owing to the disease had reached an alarming number in just a week.
The official said so far peacocks had died in the Sajai, Bhabri, Kharwaro and Kerelo villages of Deeplo Tehsil.
Last year this disease had killed around 170 peacocks before the monsoon season.
