Former interior minister Rehman Malik has invited the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to join the Sindh government.

Talking to reporters at the Karachi airport, Malik said he had come to Karachi on the instructions of President Asif Ali Zardari.

The former interior minister said Altaf Hussain had given the message that the MQM and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would work together. He said the PPP had nothing to do with the Peoples Lyari Aman Committee.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah met Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad and later called on the president and briefed him about the meeting with the governor.
