Former president Pervez Musharraf was formally arrested by a police team from Balochistan in the Akbar Bugti murder case.
Subsequently, an anti-terrorism court ordered a two-week-long judicial remand of the former army chief.
Musharraf is to remain at his farmhouse for the duration of the remand. The farmhouse at Chak Shahzad had earlier been declared a sub-jail.
Bugti was killed in a cave on August 26, 2006 during a military crackdown. The death of the British-educated chieftain sparked protests in the country.

  1. Do, or rather, should 'tribal chieftans' exist in a democracy in this century in the modern Pakistani state? British-educated? What has this got to do with the fact hat he was a rebel against the state with a private army fully equipped with ammunition, grenades and rocket launnchers. Was he a law-abiding citizen of Pakistan or a traitor? He tried to hide in a 'secure' cave with his ammunition. When officers of the army went to negotiate with him he attacked them. In the mayhem his ammunition blew up and he found POETIC JUSTICE, PERIOD!
