Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MNA Shazia Marri on Wednesday urged the chief election commissioner to hold re-election for NA-235 and PS-81 in Sanghar simultaneously.
Re-polling for PS-81 would be held on June 26 while no date had so far been announced for re-election on NA-235.
In a letter, Marri said that ECP should review its decision because it was difficult for women to come out of homes over and over again to cast vote.
She had contested for NA-235 and lost to PML-F General Secretary Sadruddin Shah Rashdi while PML-F’s Jam Madad Ali had lost the race for PS-81 to PPP’s Mohammad Khan Junejo. NA-235 had fallen vacant after Shah retained his NA-216 seat. The Supreme Court ordered re-polling on PS-81 after Junejo was disqualified in a fake degree case.
