A delegation of Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BN-M) on Wednesday met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on behalf of the party President Sardar Akhtar Mengal at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Senior leaders Dr Sajid Tareen, Sana Baloch, Abdul Rauf Mengal and Essa Noori were encouraged by Prime Minister Nawaz to play an active role in national mainstream politics and their party’s participation in the recent general elections was lauded.
The prime minister said that his party offered the post of Balochistan chief minister to Dr Abdul Malik Baloch despite winning majority seats in the province. The decision, he said, was taken in the greater interest of the province and the country.
The prime minister said that restoring peace and achieving economic prosperity was on the top of his government’s agenda. He added that progress and development in the province was not possible without taking all the political forces on board.
Members of the visiting delegation conveyed Akhtar Mengal’s message to Prime Minister Nawaz and informed him about the issue of missing persons and sought his guidance to resolve it.
The prime minister assured the delegation of his complete support and assured the delegation that the missing person’s case would be investigated.
