Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that Pervez Musharraf had abrogated the constitution twice and deserves to be hanged as many times, to set a precedent for the future.
Talking to the media in Mansoora on Thursday, he said that the former military dictator bowed to a single phone call from Washington throwing the country into the so called war on terror, due to which the nation was suffering till now.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that the nation had high expectations from the new rulers and it must get some relief promptly.
He said that at present, the secularists were occupying important posts where decisions were made. However, he said, the nation should not feel disappointed because Pakistan’s future was linked with Islam alone.
To a question, the JI Ameer said it was ironic that the US itself was begging the Taliban for talks but was sabotaging talks between Islamabad and the Taliban.
He said the rulers in Islamabad must decide whether they would defend the independence and sovereignty of this country or allow the US to continue drone attacks which were killing innocent citizens.
