Shahrukh Jatoi, the main accused in Shahzeb Khan murder case was found guilty and sentenced to death on Friday by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC).

The case came up for hearing before ATC judge Ghulam Mustafa Memon.

Twenty-year-old Shahzeb Khan was gunned down on the night of December 24, 2012 when he was returning home along with his sister after attending a wedding. Shahzeb, son of a DSP, was murdered reportedly after he had an altercation with one of the suspects’ servant who had allegedly given verbal threats to the victim’s sister.

Shahrukh Jatoi, Nawab Siraj Ali Talpur, his younger brother Nawab Sajjad Ali Talpur and their house servant Ghulam Murtaza Lashari were charged with killing Shahzeb in the city’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA).

The case had attracted much media attention after the Supreme Court took a suo motu notice of the murder.

  1. Courts need to ensure that this murderer along with accomplices do get the death instead of a ticket to Dubai.

Set an example in this land of peace.

  2. justice delayed justice denied … verdict should have come in a week according to rules of law .. but culprit relative are so strong that they are able to stretched obvious verdict to 90 days…. now they can go to high court against death sentence…… if culprit got off Scott free that will be the defeat of high court … and every one curse the high court of pakistan and Pakistan justice system …..

    • It was a murder trial; to deliver justice in a few months is highly commendable. In developed countries it can take up to a year before a case can be heard and this applies to all cases without exception. The most pathetic thing in this is to see the convicts coming out waving victory sign.

  3. he should be hanged as early as possible because these feudal lords have deep roots in our police culture…..

  4. good news. for one killing there can be only one death sentence however in this case judge ordered two death sentences. this will weaken the case in upper courts.

  5. good and quick verdict. that's what we need in Pakistan , land of pure. insaf just insaf. no mercy on zalim, cruel.

  6. don't go in legal technicalities. we need pure clean justice like the one Prophet Muhammad PBUH established in first state based on pure simple Islam. thats it. only solution to pakista's problems. simple pure islam without embelishments of trivial sectarian differences.May Allah bless our Land:Pakistan.

  10. Congratulation my Pakistani family on the verdict of the courts. The justice has been served, from now on wards our hopes are much higher for free and fair judiciary in Pakistan though it took long time for courts on this verdict but still hopes are high.
Once again congrats to the people of The Islamic Republic of Pakistan. May Allah be with you all.

  11. He was laughing coming out of the court because he knows that Zardari will waive his death penalty. People seem happy that he is going to be hanged without realising the truth.

Justice system and corruption in Pakistan STINKS!!!
