An Education and Training Ministry spokesman said on Wednesday that Dr. Sania Nishtar has declined pay and allowances for the period she served as the education federal minister, informing the Cabinet Division in this regard accordingly.

The spokesman further said that Nishtar has also declined to accept 5 arms licenses (1 PB and 4 NBP) which were to be awarded to her in the federal minister’s capacity, citing no specific need to accept them.

She thanked the Ministry for their consideration and also expressed gratitude to the Interior Ministry for offering to retain her police guard which she also declined, stating that she would not like to tax the already overburdened police force.
