While questioning the legitimacy of the Balochistan Assembly, several political parties on Saturday said the lawmakers have returned to serve the interests of invisible forces instead of people.
Leaders of several parties said this during a protest demonstration against rigging in the elections. Balochistan National Party-Mengal leader Dr Jahanzeb Jamaldini, JUI-Nazariati Central Secretary General Abdul Qadir, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Abdul Bari, Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat Deputy Secretary Hafiz Ayub and leaders of Jamaat Ahle Hadees addressed the protesters outside the Balochistan Assembly.
Speakers said that a dummy leadership was once again imposed on the people of Balochistan, adding that for the past 65 years hidden hands were involved in the manipulation of political process. They said they had always opposed these forces, adding that those people were elected to the assembly through rigging who could serve their interests.
They said that from the murder of Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti to killing of Baloch youth, the interference of institutions was clearly evident, adding that they wanted to make it clear that the political forces were united for the interests of the people.
They said they were optimistic about the elections in Balochistan held on May 11, but the results frustrated them, adding that they would continue to protest against the injustice.
