Pakistan tennis star Aisamul Haq and his doubles partner Cara Black eased past Indian ladies tennis player and wife of Shoaib Malik, Sania Mirza in the mixed doubles opening round match of the French Open at Roland Garros on Friday.
Aisam and Cara of Zimbabwe had little problem to overcome the pair of Sania and his Swedish partner Robert Lindstedt 6-2, 6-3.
The Pakistan-Zimbabwean pair met the Sania led pair for the first time and similarly, The Indian tennis ace and her Swedish partner Lindstedt joined together for the first time and were seeded first for the mixed doubles event.
Mirza had earlier paired up with American Bob Bryan for the Australian Open but had lost out in the quarter finals.
Earlier, Aisam and his doubles partner Jean-Julien Rojer moved past Russian pair of Evgeny Donskoy and Dmitry Tursunov in the first round of the Open. Aisam and partner scored 6-3 and 7-6 win over the Russain pair.
