The government on Friday decided to increase per litre petrol price by Rs 2.18, slightly decreasing rates of other POL products.
The new rates would be effective from Friday midnight (June 1).
The Ministry of Petroleum approved changes in prices following a summary sent by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) which is yet to issue a notification in this regard.
The price of petrol has been raised by Rs 2.18, that of light diesel by seven paisas per litre, and HOBC by Rs 0.84 per litre.
The rates of high speed diesel were slashed by Rs 1.46 per litre and the price of kerosene oil was reduced by 38 paisas.
