Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader and former Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif reiterated PML-N’s conviction for good governance.
Talking to media personnel in London, future Punjab chief minister urged Pakistanis in Britain to invest their money in Pakistan to bring prosperity to their homeland.
Sharif said his party had gained majority in Center and Punjab to form the government but they would make alliances for collective efforts to drag the country out from grave problems and severe challenges.
He said the general election was a three-party contest and a first in the history of Pakistan owing to the rise of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), adding that people had a third option to choose from.
But, he said, the people of Pakistan had given a clear mandate to PML-N since they trusted the political wisdom of Nawaz Sharif.
Sharif said Fazlur Rehman had pressurised PML-N to form government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) but his party rejected the offer because they believed in democracy and respected PTI’s mandate in the province.
He said even before taking charge of the premier’s office, Nawaz Sharif and his team were working tirelessly to resolve the energy crisis in the country.
He said to overcome power load shedding, short, medium and long-term projects were being planned so the country could be put back on the track of progress and prosperity.
He said all possible steps would be taken to resolve the energy crisis, and urged for foreign investment in the energy sector.
