NAB quizzes Dr Asim over Sadiq’s appointment, other irregularities

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officers on Thursday interrogated former adviser to prime minister on petroleum, Dr Asim Hussain, in connection with the appointment of Tauqir Sadiq as the OGRA chairman and other related issues.

Dr Asim, who has been facing several allegations, arrived at the NAB Rawalpindi office and was questioned for some time.

The NAB investigators also confronted Dr Asim over allegedly providing free-of-cost supply of gas to his private hospital as well as gas theft from a gas field.

According to details, Dr Hussain appeared before NAB officials. A source in NAB said investigators asked three questions from the former adviser.

The source said Asim was asked who had recommended the appointment of Tauqir Sading as OGRA chairman, who authorised the free gas supply to ZiauddinHospital and on whose directives gas theft was allowed from Kunar Besakhi gas field in Sindh.

The source said NAB investigators would submit their report based on the interrogation with Dr Hussain to the Rawalpindi accountability court.
