PML-N leader Sartaj Aziz on Thursday said priority of the new government is to reduce power load shedding.
Taking to Radio Pakistan, he said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz after assuming the charge of the government would announce a 100-day roadmap to address the energy and economic crises of the country.
The road map would be reflective of the PML-N manifesto, including quick economic revival, he added. The roadmap included short and long-term power generation projects and how to deal with the circular debts.
Aziz said that a task force is working on it as the circular debts have increased to Rs 800 billion.
He said the main cause of load shedding was unjust distribution of gas and there was also lack of good governance.
He said it would be his party’s endeavour that the resources should be distributed on judicial basis.
PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal also said that the problems being faced by the people, including energy crisis, revival of economy, poverty, unemployment and terrorism would be resolved with dedication.
He said that in the past, these problems could not be solved due to incompetence and corruption. The PML-N would form government in Punjab where it enjoyed majority, he added.
In Balochistan, his party’s efforts would bring a broad-based government which move forward with the help of all political forces.
He said negotiations were underway with the nationalist parties in this regard.
He said, “We have to restore peace, develop mineral and open more trade corridors with China in Balochistan.”
In Sindh, he said the government would make efforts to help the provincial government to improve the infrastructure and remove lawlessness.
He said in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the federal government would also help the provincial government of PTI and priority would be given to restore peace there.
