The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday took notice of an acid throwing incident with a woman in the suburbs of Toba Tek Singh.
The LHC Complaint Cell directed the Toba Tek Singh district and sessions (D&S) judge to probe into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding steps taken by the police along with his own comments.
According to details, Nawaz Town’s Asma Azeem was visiting her parents when Mujahid Hussain and three accomplices entered their house, threw acid on her and fled. She suffered severe burns and was admitted to the DistrictHeadquartersHospital. She added that she had opposed her nephew’s marriage with Mujahid’s daughter and so he had taken revenge through this heinous act.
