At the inaugural meeting of the Sindh Assembly on Wednesday, a large number of angry lawyers gathered in front of the assembly and raised their voice against the murder of Sindh High Court (SHC) lawyer Kausar Saqlain.
Advocate Kausar Saqlain and two of his children were shot dead by unidentified gunmen on Maripur road in the metropolis on Tuesday and the killers were still at large.
Expressing anger over the incident, lawyers’ community boycotted the court proceedings and carried out a protest rally towards the provincial assembly.
Meanwhile, some agitated lawyers tried to barge into the assembly building, but police restricted their advance by blocking the main entrance.
On the occasion, lawyers also shouted slogans against the interim government and law enforcing agencies for failing to protect the lives of citizens.
They demanded of the newly-elected government to arrest the culprits immediately, otherwise they would have no choice but to spread their protests across the country.
