The Islamabad High Court has postponed the hearing of financial irregularities in Zarai Taraqiati Bank Ltd (ZTBL) till June 12. On Monday, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui started the hearing regarding the appointment of ZTBL president and other alleged irregularities in the bank. Barrister Afzal Hussain, the lawyer of the applicants, told the court that the bank’s management spends lavishly on the meetings of the bank’s Board of Directors. Justice Siddiqi said ZTBL owns a magnificent building but arranging BoD’s meetings at five-star hotels was sheer misuse of resources. The court sought at the next hearing record of the expenditure incurred on the meetings of the board of directors, which were held during the tenures of former chief of the bank Zaka Ashraf, acting president Rohi Raees Khan and incumbent head Ihsan-ul-Haq.
