ANP-Sindh general secy passes away

KARACHI – Awami National Party (ANP)-Sindh general secretary Amin Khattak died at age 57 on Sunday. The ANP has announced three-day mourning period. Khattak was born in Jalozai, Nowshera. He was appointed the National Democratic Party Patel Para (Karachi) ward president in 1986. In 1994, he became the ANP general secretary and later the ANP-Sindh president in 1996. In 2001, Ajmal Khattak and he jointly formed the National Awami Party (NAP).
In 2003, he returned to the ANP as its central deputy secretary general. He became the ANP-Sindh general secretary in 2006 and remained so until death. MQM chief Altaf Hussain, ANP Sindh President Shahi Syed, Sindh cabinet members, PPP leaders Waqar Mehdi, Rashid Rabbani, PML-N’s Saleem Zia, JUI’s Qari Usman, and MQM’s Waseem Aftab and Raza Haroon condoled with Khattak’s family. He would be laid to rest in his native village Jalozai.
