Former Sindh chief minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim on Sunday decided to merge his party, Pakistan People’s Muslim League (PPML) with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
PPML was earlier known as Pakistan Muslim League-Likeminded.
The decision was taken during Rahim’s meeting with former Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore.
Rahim, who was Sindh CM from 2004 to 2007, has been elected to National and Sindh Assembly from his constituency in Tharparkar several times.
He expressed full confidence in the leadership of Nawaz Sharif.
Welcoming Rahim’s decision‚ Shahbaz Sharif said it will help PML-N’s efforts to bring progress‚ prosperity‚ and stability in the country and in Sindh.
In its attempt to form a strong federal government, PML-N has been wooing political leaders into its fold. A day before, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) formally announced it will join the federal coalition government led by PML-N.
Earlier on May 17, Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi’s National People’s Party (NPP) also merged with the PML-N.
Meanwhile, PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif said he is following a policy of reconciliation and wanted to resolve the plethora of problems facing Pakistan with consensus.
Being an MPA, he spent the 5 year tenure in Dubai, fearing backlash from PPP provincial government for what he did to them during MUSHARAF dictatorship. Now where to hide in next 5 years. May be RAIWIND Palaces.
yeah to wohi hay jiss ko jooty pary they 🙂
