The London Metropolitan Police on Wednesday launched an investigation against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain following complaints by PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
According to the Guardian, the Metropolitan Police was investigating a controversial speech made by Altaf from London last week. “The investigation is in its early stages,” the newspaper claimed.
The British Foreign Office on Saturday said it “strongly condemned” all acts of violence in Karachi. It added, “We are deeply saddened by the recent violence in the city, including violence murderously directed against democratic political figures.”
Following the brutal murder of PTI leader Zahra Shahid Hussain, Khan tweeted, “I also hold the British Govt responsible as I had warned them about British citizen Altaf Hussain after his open threats to kill PTI workers.”
Earlier, Metropolitan Police spokesman Richard Jones also confirmed that they had started investigations against Altaf on hundreds of complaints. He said the police were in process of collecting evidence.
The Metropolitan Police have dispatched text of Altaf’s speech to the Home Department for translation in English.
“We will see what course of action should be taken once we get all the evidence,” Jones said.
Meanwhile, the MQM has rejected all allegations against its party chief.

Who killed Dr. Imran ? Only Altaf Hussain got the answer and knows who killed him and who was accessory to murder. British Police takes time but do investigate thoroughly all the issues.
