An inquiry committee has been constituted under the supervision of DIG South to probe into the murder of PTI leader Zohra Shahid but no case has been registered so far in this regard.
The local media said Karachi police chief had constituted an inquiry committee under the supervision of DIG South Dr Amir Sheikh. The other members of committee are SSP South Nasir Aftab, SSP investigation Manzoor Kahttian, SSP SIU Farooq Awan, SSP AVC Niaz Khoso, DSP Gazri Ishfaq Baloch and SIO Gazri.
First meeting of the inquiry committee was held under the chair of DIG South Amir Sheikh. Talking to media after the meeting Amir Sheikh said the committee was investigating the case by all angles, however, no murder case has been registered so far.
Zohra Shahid was shot dead outside her house in Defence Society on the eve of re-polling at 43 stations of Karachi’s NA-250 constituency.
Initially, the police had said that Zohra Shahid Hussain was shot dead on Saturday night after she resisted a robbery attempt; however, leaders of the PTI were not convinced and sought a thorough investigation.
