A low-intensity blast took place in the city’s Boat Basin area on Tuesday without causing any casualties or serious damage.
According to the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) personnel, the explosive device was kept in a pot near the red zone that housed key establishments, including the Governor’s House, the Chief Minister’s House and Bilawal House.
Moreover, ball bearings were also used in the manufacture of the device.
Security personnel cordoned off the area as investigations into the explosion went underway.
In related news, police have recovered another 15 mortar shells from a junk shop in the metropolis.
