The Ministry of Finance on Tuesday released Rs 15 billion to the Ministry of Water and Power with an aim to ease the severe crisis of power outages in the country.
The amount was released on instructions of the caretaker Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso.
Sources said that the amount would be utilised to buy furnace oil for thermal power plants.
Meanwhile, Senate Standing Committee on Water and Power Chairman Zahid Khan said that the committee had summoned officials of the Ministry of Water and Power and WAPDA.
He said that the committee would recommend action against those who were responsible for current severe load-shedding across the country.
