Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Syed Tahir Shahbaz on Monday said at the “Clean and Green Islamabad” campaign’s sector I-8 inauguration that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) had sufficient supplies to meet the water requirement for the ongoing summer season, however, due to power outages tube wells in the city would not be functional, hindering the water provision to the residents.

He added that the water management staff would work round the clock in three shifts to address complaints promptly and private tankers would also be hired.

He also ordered the repair and maintenance of water tankers. The chairman requested the citizens to use water frugally and avoid wastage.

Earlier, he visited different areas of Sector I-8 to inspect the roads, parks, water supply system and sewerage system, ordering repairs where required.

Member Environment Ahsan Ali Mangi, Member Engineering Sanaullah Aman, “Clean and Green Islamabad” Campaign Coordinator Rawal Khan Maitla were also present and school children and citizens participated actively in the cleanliness drive.

The campaign’s participants assured full support and requested the CDA to extend the campaign to all parts of the city.
