Cricket SA has not yet drawn up a final shortlist of candidates for its vacant CEO position, it said on Friday.

Chair of the CSA board sub-committee driving the independent process, Dawn Mokhobo, said they were running according to schedule and were confident of appointing a new CEO by the beginning of July.

“We have not reached the stage where we have the final shortlist, so there is no value in any speculation as to who may be on that list,” Mokhobo said.

Media reports suggested this week that former International Cricket Council CEO Haroon Lorgat was the favourite for the post.

CSA appointed its chief financial officer Naasei Appiah acting CEO in February.

Appiah took over from Jacques Faul, who joined the Northerns Cricket Union.

Faul had been acting CEO since March last year, when he was appointed in place of Gerald Majola during the federation’s long-running bonus scandal.
