An appeal made by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan for vote re-count in NA-122 constituency of Lahore has been rejected by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

The returning officer on Friday rejected Imran’s plea on the basis that there was not enough evidence to support his claim.

The PTI chief secured 84,417 votes but lost NA-122 Lahore-5 seat against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Sardar Ayaz Sadiq who had a total of 93,362 votes.

PTI supporters have been staging a sit-in in Lahore against “rigging” in the May 11 general elections.

The sit-in is organised at Lalik Chowk, Defence where dozens of party workers and supporters have camped out calling for re-election in NA-122 to NA-125 constituencies.

      • Bhae pehle khud to jaag jao? Is your leader is capable of handing pakistan? Our youth has gone mad. Khuda k lea think for pakistan and think for your nation.

  1. Impotent Election Commission could not do anything before the announcement of victory for PML (N), what the system will do now ? nothing…..however I salute the voters in sit-in protest…..this is the change motivated by Imran Khan….now it can not be suppressed and Insha Allah will lead Pakistan to positive and constructive future….God bless Pakistan..

  2. Attock seat High court revoked recounting order, and asked EC to contact both parties. Why is that necessary? If one party suggest they are not satisfied then recount, why EC needs to hear the other party. SHAREEF COURTS.

  3. Nawaz is the only real representative of Punjabi chauvinists forces. Imran's party is a national party and not representing Punjabi chauvinists. Cours represent Punjab and favour a representative of Punjabi chauvinists, Nawaz Sharif.

    • bus yehi sochte rehna panjabi sindhi baluchi and etc oh bahi he is a honest and truthful persion give him a one chance nawaz ko 3 times prime min banny ka chance diya hay ek bar we must give a chance to imran

  4. Yea right no enough evidence, this decision evidence itself of malpractice of Election Commission of Nawaz!

  5. PTI k leaders ne to kaha hai k humari seats pe bhi re-counting karaa lo…

  6. You people fail to realise that despite losing Imran Khan still had a massive number of votes from that constituency which shows how far the PTI has penetrated into the social fabric. Koi dhandli nai hoi, agli dafa behtar tareekay sey apnay apko organise karna ho ga inhay. The voter counts were well within margins and most shocking for the rest of the parties is the massive turnout in favor of PTI in all of Punjab by being the second largest party there. For god's sake look at the positives bewakoofo.

  7. The recount is not the play of children, it incurs cost. A strong evidence of rigging is required to recount. ECP is impartial.

  8. bhai ye sub drama ab band hona chaheye ,,jo b elect hua ha ab awam k liye kuch kery,,,5 saal isey cheey cheey mein nikal jaengy

  9. The courts are clearly partial. I'm not surprised by their decision, it's exactly as expected.

  10. ECP is wrong in turning down IK request of recount. They know elections are rigged. Money has bought the loyalties of many ECP officials. Very sad
