Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Shahbaz Sharif has said that work on the Karachi metro bus project will be started soon.
Talking to a private TV channel, Shahbaz Sharif, whose party emerged as the largest winner in May 11 polls, said launching of the metro bus project in Karachi was PML-N’s one of the top priorities.
To a question, the former Punjab chief minister said that load shedding issue would be addressed by adopting short, medium and long-term measures.
He said as a short-term measure a check on power theft and line losses would be ensured besides recovery of bills from the provinces. The recovered money would be injected into the system which would serve two aims – stop the circular debt from snowballing further and generate more power.
However, additional power would be generated in the long-run through available resources including coal reserves which would be added to the national grid.
Sharif vowed that “we would build Pakistan the way we built Punjab”
