Around 50 illegal transport terminals operating in different areas of the city would be removed on the Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench’s orders.
The LHC recently ordered Administrator Rawal Town to launch an operation against illegal terminals and submit a report on it by May 30.
According to reports, approximately 50 illegal bus, truck, wagon and van stands were operating illegally in places including Pirwadhai and Peshawar, causing frequent traffic jams in the city’s main areas.
City district administration sources told that a crackdown would be launched following court orders, adding that the LHC’s directives would be implemented in letter and spirit.
They vowed that the district government was committed to purging the city of all illegal activities. They said that citizens will be facilitated fully by controlling vehicular traffic and by keeping the city clean and green.
