Caretaker Information Minister Arif Nizami on Tuesday lauded the Election Commission of Pakistan (EC) for successfully holding free‚ fair and transparent elections in the country.
He said in an interview that the caretaker government was mandated to conduct free and fair transparent elections, a task it had completed successfully.
Arif Nizami said that the media also played a vital role in covering all political parties’ campaigns.
He praised Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani for providing support for the elections process by maintaining security during the polls.
Replying to a question‚ he admitted that there were some rigging allegations, but they would be investigated by the ECP and election tribunals.
