The Capital Development Authority (CDA) failed to complete ongoing development work in Sector D-12, even though several years had lapsed since the land was transferred to the allottees.
The sector was started in 1989 and the allottees have been waiting for the uplift work to be completed since the last 24 years.
The contract was awarded in 2005 and the work was to be completed in one and a half to two years, but it could not even be finished in eight years.
CDA officials said that the work has been progressing, albeit very slowly. 65 percent of the construction has been completed. They informed that the basic road-work had been done, and now the laying of water, drainage and sewerage lines was underway.
The officials said that land for west and east service roads could not be acquired so far, as the Land and Rehabilitation department had not taken any action. Secondly, the project’s contractor was also inefficient.
The allottees demanded of CDA’s chairman to take notice of the situation and make sure that the development work in the sector is completed soon.
