The European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) to Pakistan chief observer and member of the European Parliament, Michael Gahler, on Saturday said peaceful and smooth transfer of power to the newly-elected government would be Pakistan’s biggest achievement.

Talking to reporters, Gahler raised serious concerns over the increased level of violence during elections in Pakistan.

He said anti-state elements were targeting particular political parties and threatening the democratic system.

One hundred and forty observers are monitoring Pakistan’s general election.

  1. wrong, peace is important for cowardly nations, brave nations sometimes have to go through fire to get something good, Its important to get a fair election, not a peaceful one. The current elections were stolen by MQM in Karachi and PMLN in Punjab.

Peace without justice is accepting tyranny.
