In an emergency press conference called Saturday, the Jamaat-i-Islami announced that it was boycotting elections in protest against what they called the threatening and scaring of voters in several constituencies of Karachi and Hyderabad.

Party chief Syed Munawar Hasan accused the MQM of being directly involved in the incidents of violence and rigging.

“Even in Hyderabad, our workers were beaten with weapons and pushed out of the polling stations in two constituencies,” said Hasan.

  1. We deserve it….We are all corupt…wake up…look after our country…and stop being so selfish…poor pakinstan….poor people…poor education….poor thinking…poor polotics…poor result….coruption every where…in the name of islam…poor…

  2. If terrorist party like MQM openly forcing peoples to vote and their treating their opposition how these elections can called free and fair?.Where are tail claims by ECP?.Security situation is also worst. In Karachi and Hyderabad elections should immediately stopped and all polling stations should be handover to army so no chance for terrorists like MQM to hijack elections. Also mobile service should ban for security reasons.

  3. This is the end of my hope to see better, peaceful and brighter Karachi.
    Thank you MQM

  4. JI poll offices were deserted in Karachi today. So instead of accepting defeat, they allege rigging. Wah Molvi Wah.
