Four more people were killed and dozens other hurt in violence on the eve of the country’s historic election on Friday.
Four people were killed and at least 20 others injured when two bomb went off minutes apart in North Waziristan Agency on Friday.
The bombs struck in Khawaja Jan Chowk, a busy market area, in Miranshah.
Officials said the first explosion was caused by a motorcycle bomb, adding that the death toll could rise.
Witnesses said a passenger coach was the target of the attack, intended to cause mass destruction.
Officials said second blast occurred at same location when people were busy in rescue works.
In Quetta, as many as five people sustained injuries in a bomb attack on the election office of Pakistan People’s Party candidate for NA-260 Quetta-cum-Chaghi. The attack occurred on Brewary Road in the outskirts of the city.
According to police, the remote controlled explosive device had been planted beside the election office of Sardar Umar Goagaje.
Those injured were identified as Mir Hussian, Nazar Mohammad, Ghambir, Abdul Hai and Ali Akbar.
Separately, a blast near Awami National Party election office left one person in need of immediate medical care.
The explosion was reported o have struck the ANP election camp located in Faqir Chowk area of Peshawar.
Sources said a man sustained injuries in the blast and was rushed to hospital.
In Mianwali, a convoy of PTI leader Ayla Malik was fired upon by unidentified gunmen. Three of Ayla’s guards were injured in the attack.
Unidentified militants also blew up girl’s school in Aaspar Burzay Bazaar in Turbat, but no loss of life was reported.
Media reports said that the blast partially damaged the school building that had been declared a polling station for the general elections.
Police backed by security force cordoned off the area and started a search operation against the militants.
Militants continued to target electoral offices and proposed polling stations in parts of Balochistan on Friday.
Militants blew up three polling stations in Balochistan’s troubled district Dera Bugti.
Ayaz Baloch, a levies official, said that militants blew up three proposed polling stations in the Sui town of Dera Bugti. However, no human loss was reported.
Meanwhile, militants fired two rockets on two polling stations in the Panjgoor area of Balochistan.
Barakat Baloch, a levies official, said there was no human loss.
Militants also hurled a petrol bomb at the office of Balochistan National Party Mengal (BNP-M). No human loss was again reported.
Moreover, a wheel jam and shutter down strike was observed in almost all of the Baloch dominated areas of Balochistan.
The Baloch National Front (BNF) had given call for strike on the eve of elections on account of their opposition to elections in Balochistan.
