A two days seminar on ‘Socio-Economic Development and Labour Migration’ organized by Pakistan Manpower Institute (PMI) commenced on Monday.
The seminar’s objective is providing a forum to discuss labour migration issues and possible solutions.
The participants highlighted the role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and overseas employment promoters in improving migration.
They reviewed the country’s current situation, focusing employment, economic growth, structural changes, labour markets, return migration remittances, HRD, critically evaluating the government’s migration policies.
28 officers and executives from public and private sector organizations participated in the seminar and eminent speakers from academic institutions delivered lectures to the participants.
Prof. Dr. Nusrat Ara Majid, Chief Women Cardiologist, Rawalpindi Medical College will preside over the closing ceremony at PMI premises on May 7. Certificates will be awarded to the participants.
