Pakistan Science and Technological Information Center (PASTIC), a subsidiary of Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), will establish information kiosks and cells in 16 different universities throughout the country.

PASTIC often organizes information service stalls at universities for science and technology services.

“We help universities by training their library and information professionals in modern information handling techniques for automating their libraries and information source sharing. We also arrange foreign training for their library staff”, a PASTIC official said.

“PASTIC is collaborating with the Chambers of Commerce and Industry for bridging the gap between industry and research institutions and promoting research and development culture in the country,” he added.

According to him, these links are necessary for bringing the academia and industry closer for correspondence between research objectives and industry priorities and for promoting indigenous technologies, and PASTIC’s initiative will promote competition, productivity and socio economic development.

The official told that PASTIC provides support services such as research papers and scientific documents to all scientists, researchers and students of the universities.
