Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Javed Hashmi on Monday expressed shock at the “irresponsible” interview given by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif to Indian anchor Karan Thapar.

Hashmi said that discussing sensitive internal military matters on an Indian television channel showed how “totally ignorant” Nawaz Sharif was about statecraft and rules of governance.

“Clearly he has gained nothing from his repeated experience in power,” he said.

“What business is it of an Indian channel to know about the internal promotion issue of a chief of army staff? Do the Indians ever give access to such information to any other country especially Pakistan?” Hashmi asked.

He said that what was even more shocking was Nawaz’s discourse on Kargil and his plan to punish all the generals involved.

“No one is denying that investigations should be done on these issues but these are Pakistan’s internal matters not to be broadcast across an Indian TV Channel,” Hashmi said.

Furthermore, Hashim said that Nawaz had implied that he would share the findings of such a report on the Kargil debacle with India. This, Hashmi said, was truly a “grave violation” of the principle of keeping external powers out of Pakistan’s internal.

  1. Nawaz lacks all the qualities that are needed to govern. That is why we are in this state.Only his personal wealth made enormous progress and like fools we believed he was not a crook or money launderer.Allah in His infinite mercy has opened our eyes, and also thanks to media that we have time to correct our mistakes.Let us not miss this God given oppertunity and kick PML N out for good.

  2. Javed Hashmi, once a statesman respected among all parties and circles, has become a traditional politician. He has recently gone to low level to criticize Nawaz Sharif. He should have some ethics left to not target PML-N and his ex political affiliation of 27 years. He should had left it to Imran Khan and other PTI representatives.

  3. Mr. Salman Saleem with all due respect screw PML-N and Nawaz Sharif….what is abt Pakistan should remain in Pakistan only….anyone who leaks sensitive information is termed a traitor so what Mr. Hashmi did in true sense was justified not just
being a member of PTI but a citizen of Pakistan….

  4. Perhaps tv channel was serving Kashmiri chai and Siri paye during the interview!

  5. IT DOES NOT SUIT YOU NAMAK HARRAM REBILLION HASHEMI.ONE DAY YOU WILL DECEIVE IMRAN KHAN .YOU PEO[LE ARE NOT SINCERE TO THE NATION,BUT YOU ARE PURE OPPORTUNIST.

  6. Let us face it there is a difference between experience and judgement. Mr.Nawaz has the experience but is a poor judge. His interview with the Indian TV attests to it. He appears to be india centric rather than pakistan centric. Who in his sound mind would discuss sensitive matters regarding his own army with it's arch enemy. This too when he himself was the PM at that time. God help us if he is going to pass on the Kargill commissions report to India. Well as a PM he was the supreme commander at that time. It aws a deriliction of his responsibility at that time. Mr Nawaz needs a media advisor badly. Media appearances are addictive esp. foreign.

  7. Before the troll abuse starts let me clarify that I am a PTI voter and a lifelong fan of Mr Hashmi.

I thought Mr Sharif‘s relaxed and honest views were refreshing. Our Army has become too involved in policy making, this cannot continue. I also like his stance on Shia rights and on standing up against Ahmadi persecution. I think some PMLN politicians are fine people. I hate their association with SSP/JuD and I hate their arrogant, rich shopkeeper disregard for due process, I hate their contempt for the poor and I could not never vote for a party supported by Justice Shareef or Rana Sana.
