Power outages brings life to a halt

Increase in the duration of load shedding has created frustration among the people of Shaheed Benazirabad district.
Earlier, WAPDA was observing eight hours load shedding in city areas and more than 16 hours in remote areas. As a result, businesses came to a standstill on Saturday morning when power completely disappeared at 9.30 am and returned at 12.30 pm.
During power outages, labourers’ were seen waiting outside shops for electricity to come and resume work. Meanwhile, mercury jumped to 43 degrees Celsius on Saturday which was the highest recorded for the season.
On the other hand, roads wore a deserted look as people mostly remained indoors during mid day.
