The Supreme Court on Thursday overruled Sindh High Court’s (SHC) decision and barred Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate Murad Ali Shah to contest elections from PS-73 Dadu.

Last month, the candidate was allowed by SHC to run for the Sindh Assembly constituency.

On Thursday, a three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, upheld the decisions of returning officer and election tribunal and declared SHC judgment null and void. The apex court disqualified Shah over his dual nationality.
