Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Information Secretary Dr Shireen Mazari on Monday expressed surprise at Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Watoo’s statement that PPP would “offer” Imran Khan the post of prime minister in a coalition government with PPP.

“Such an absurdity should not be coming from senior PPP leaders who are deliberately playing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) game of trying to discredit PTI. The muk muka between PPP and PML-N continues in yet another form,” she said.

She added that PTI had made it categorically clear several times in the past that it would never form a coalition with the “corrupt, tried and failed family enterprise parties.”

She told journalists that PTI would sweep the elections but if by chance it failed to do so, the PTI would gladly sit and be a strong opposition rather than forming a coalition with corrupt and failed parties.

Earlier, whilst talking to a daily English newspaper, Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo president of the PPP’s Punjab chapter stated that his party was willing to offer Imran Khan the office of prime minister in the coalition government. Wattoo had stated that if the PTI played their cards right, they could secure more seats in Punjab than the PML-N in coalition with his party.

Wattoo had further stated that his party would welcome the PTI in the coalition government if the PPP gained majority in the centre.

  1. People should understand, PTI cannot make alliance to any status quo party. Reason: if PTI makes alliance with PMLN or PPP, it cant bring fundamental changes in the system.
