Sindh IGP Shahid Nadeem Baloch has directed to depute police commandos’ at all sensitive locations and vital installations as well as in crime infested and terrorist hit areas, said a police press release issued here on Sunday.
According to the press release, the IGP asked the police officials for providing effective security cover to election candidates, political and religious leaders. He also directed the officials concerned to ensure that effective security measures were also adopted to safeguard their political and electioneering activities. He further directed to accelerate targeted operations against criminal elements to foil their nefarious designs.
Furthermore, IGP Baloch called upon strengthening of system of advance collection of intelligence in proper coordination and combination with Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) and other law enforcement/intelligence agencies.
He also directed the zonal DIGs and district SSPs to maintain complete data of schedule of corner meetings, rallies and public meetings by different political parties participating in the forthcoming elections.
He also laid stress on arranging combined/coordinated police- rangers’ flag march to develop a sense of security among the citizens. He also directed to improve patrolling protocol with special reference to analysis of modus operandi of criminal and terrorist elements in the city.
