Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan on Sunday asked Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso to convene an all-party conference on the prevailing security situation in the country.

Talking to the media in Quetta on Sunday‚ the JI chief said the conference should be attended by leaders of all political parties and by all officials of the security agencies.

Syed Munawar Hassan said that terrorism could not be divided between liberalism and fundamentalism.

Hassan said that the election should be held on time despite the current wave of terrorism which he said was being triggered by the US and other foreign forces.

He said that a delay in elections would cause serious threats to the country’s existence.

Munawar said although the situation in different parts of the country was alarming‚ elections were the only way to put things in order.

Munawar Hasan said anti-state forces were working on the agenda of their foreign masters and were causing bomb blasts and suicide bombings in order to create anarchy and a civil war situation in the country.
