The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday ordered action against 14 candidates in Articles 62 and 63 implementation case.
A full bench resumed hearing and issued the order to take action against 14 contesting candidates.
The court also summoned record from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) regarding 1,319 candidates who had moved appeals in the court.
In this regard, the State Bank, NAB and the FBR have been issued notices for further proceeding.
The court has made it clear that the main job of the Election Commission of Pakistan is not limited to the holding of general elections; rather it has to do a lot of things after elections.
“If anybody wants a medal in this regard, he would be bestowed with special award after elections,” said the court order.
On the other hand, the ECP is of the view that it was busy in making arrangements for holding of free and fair elections. Likewise, the FBR is of the opinion that the data of more than 600 candidates was provided to the ECP but returning officers had not conducted scrutiny honestly.

  1. One court reject the candidates and then some other court allow them to contest elections. ECP is not even performing the duties…Fakhro Bhai is all busy in announcing the election date…who will do the rest of the job which is more important… scrutiny…….
