Musharraf’s escape: IG Islamabad moves SC against IHC decision

Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Benyamin has challenged the decision of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in the Supreme Court in a case pertaining to former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s escape from the IHC, a local television channel reported.

On Tuesday, the IHC had ordered the Interior Secretary to take action against the IG Islamabad and submit a report.

In a report, police said that Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Idrees Rathor was responsible for helping Musharraf escape the court who he has been suspended from his service.

The report was prepared and presented by AIG Operations Sultan Taimuri, holding five police officers responsible for Musharraf’s escape to Chak Shahzad farmhouse which was later declared a sub-jail for him.

The police officers include SHO Qaisar Gilani, DSP Idrees Rathor, SP Captain Ilyas and SSP Operations Yasir Farooq.

The court said IG Islamabad was also responsible for Musharraf’s escape.

They are feeling happy after humiliating respectable officials without realizing the aspect of demoralizing effect on the particular department. This trend is actually moving towards its bad culmination
