Ahmed Raza Kasuri, counsel for former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf, on Tuesday told the apex court that his client had no faith in the Supreme Court bench hearing the treason case against the former military strongman.

During Tuesday’s hearing of the case at the apex court, another counsel for Musharraf, Ibrahim Satti, said adding his client’s name to the exit control list was in violation of the Constitution.

Satti added that there was no hint of a case for high treason against his client and therefore the addition of Musharraf’s name on ECL was a violation of his fundamental rights.

Furthermore, Kasuri said his client had no confidence in the apex court bench hearing the treason case against him.

“My client has no faith in the bench hearing the case,” Kasuri said, adding that the Supreme Court should first address the question of formation of a larger bench on the matter or handing the matter over to the full court.

Earlier, Musharraf had appeared in the Rawalpindi anti-terrorist court which was hearing the Benazir Bhutto murder case.

He had also reached the premises of the anti-terrorist court for the hearing which was subsequently adjourned to May 3.

Earlier, the ATC had summoned all accused, including the retired general, for the case’s April 23 hearing.

The former president is currently under judicial custody and is residing in his farmhouse residence of Chak Shahzad on the outskirts of Islamabad. The farmhouse was declared a sub-jail by the anti-terrorist court in Islamabad as it heard the judges’ detention case against the former military strongman.

Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in a gun-and-bomb attack outside Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh on December 27, 2007. She was killed after addressing an election campaign rally in the city.

The ATC had indicted Musharraf in the case in February 2011, and in August the same year he was declared a proclaimed offender and his property was attached because of his absence.

  1. Sure,U R right.The way U R being dealt,it is obvious that the judges has become a party.

  2. He should ask Kiayni to help him and make another coup on SC and place judges who are liked by Musharraf. This is the way he would be happy 😉

  3. Musharraf is liar, coward, arrogant (a so called commando) and he has no respect for the law of the land. Thanks God! Pakistan did not suffer any big mishap during his tenure in the military and as president of Pakistan. Sycophants who gathered around him during his power-days are equally criminals in all his misdeeds.

He has no quality in him to be a political leader for the poor masses of Pakistan. He must be living in fools’ paradise as he thought that people of Pakistan are waiting for him and will welcome him on his return from self-imposed exile.

Every dog has his day and now it is his turn to pay to what he has done to this country and its people.

    • This statement is reflecting a sort of biased tone with a low standard stream of allegations. Liar, coward, arrogant and so called commando like words do not sound descent until and unless are supported by solid examples. This General was open and straightforward, a quality which many hypocrites and his rivals don't understand. It is clearly visible that he has been and being entangled in numerous cases without any proof. In fact a group of coward and liars without conscience under the umbrella of student mentality arrogant lawyers are trying to take revenge. Masses of this country have understood this great game. It is matter of a little time that these black goats will be subjected to a suitable treatment for which they are anxiously deserving for the last couple of years.

    • Excuse Me … you look like you belong to our enemy country ! With this kind of remarks for the most sincere leader of Pakistan you surely have nothing in your upper chamber! Yes he was and is a Commando of our country … and a hero of our nation ! In his tenure Pakistan was growing in every aspect and not a single case of corruption can be proved against him. He has fought for his country on every front may it be a war on foot or media ! He is the only country who can see in the face of enemy and push him back ! People like you are the ones who don't let this country be ruled by a true leader or hero ! AND DON'T YOU DARE CALL HIM A DOG ! REFRAIN FROM USING THIS KIND OF LANGUAGE BECAUSE IT SHOWS YOUR ETHICS !

  4. Conflict of interest must make the judges excuse themselves. I am not sure what the exact legal term is but they cannot hear where their 'interests' lie.

I am sure the CJP must be wise enough to see this.

  5. To all the Anti Musharraf elements:

    What did he do wrong?

    1. COUP of 1999:

He didnt do it, it was the Army who did it, he was in the plane coming from Sri Lanka.

    2. Joined the US in War against Terrorism:

Use your mind, if you have any. What do you think he should have done?? India offered a route to US through India, if India was taken onboard, we were going to be left alone and sanctions applied. No oil, No food, we would have been fucked.

    3. Lal Masjid:

A Masjid is for bringing people together, if that Masjid is not doing that it is not a Masjid at all. The people in Lal Masjid had a different agenda and needed to be dealt with.

    4. Drones:

With Al Qaeda and other elements hiding in the mountains where access was difficult on high grounds, casualty rate would be very high for troops on lower ground. Air force was not an option as the bombs would clean out larger areas. Targetted action was needed with minimum possible colateral damage which on drones could achieve.

    5. CJ and the SC:

It is a proven fact that the CJ is corrupt. Look at Arsalan case and how it was dealt and finished. How his son became so rich, driving a 4 crore car and the father doesnt even ask a question. Even PM had questioned him when he had used his clout have family members appointed him in important posts.

    6. Lawyers Movement:

This was bank rolled by the vindictive Nawaz Sharif and party alongwith support from the GEO TV channel.

    7. Emergency:

Keeping in view the situation at that time this was required as the CJ was over stepping his authority and hindering the affairs that were none of their business.

Keeping in view thw above and with no emotional thoughts but by just plain logic there is nothing that he did was wrong.

The judges trying him are not fair as one of them had his brother court matialled and the other one was a lawyer for Lal Masjid, so how can they be fair. There is a question of vested interest here and the judges should withdraw from the cases and so should the corrupt CJ and the black sheeps in black coats.

  6. These judges have a vested interest. No man may be a judge in his own cause. The only solution is mitti pao and move to tackle real issues that face Pakistan.
