The city authorities issued a show-cause notice on Monday to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) for taking out a rally in the city without prior permission.
Lahore DCO Rizwan Mehboob said that PTI had violated election code of conduct by taking out a rally without permission from the local authorities. He said that ordinary citizens had to face a lot of difficulties because of the rally.
PTI has been directed to explain its position within three days.
Meanwhile, he also issued a show-cause notice against PAT who also took out rally and sought explanation in this regard.
PTI Chief Imran Khan had launched PTI’s election campaign on Saturday with a rally led by party leaders including Imran Khan and Abdul Aleem Khan. Addressing the rally at Data Darbar, Imran Khan said the PTI would build a new Pakistan and vowed to achieve this objective with the support of the youth. He said after May 11, people would see important changes as the youth ‘wiped out old the politicians.’
On the other hand, PAT appears to be carrying on with its rallies without the permission of local authorities. PAT Chief Tahirul Qadri on Sunday claimed that voting in the current corrupt system would be a sin and that his party will hold peaceful protests across the country on May 11, the day of the general elections. The PAT plans to carry out a peaceful rally from Railway Station to Lakshmi Chowk in Lahore to protest against the present electoral system, which will not only be attended by party workers and citizens but also women, he added.

So Mr. DCO, tumhay "awaam ki mushkilaat" uss wakat nazar nahee aatein jab roz the so-called Khadim-e-Aala gets main arteries and roads of Lahore closed for more than half an hour so that his huge contingent of cars can pass through on way to Raiwind!

The entrourage that goes around with the 2 "duffer" brothers, is it less than a rally? Is that not violation of Election code of conduct. The day they withdraw 800 policemen deployed for NS and SS security is the when they should have a problem with activities of any other political party.
