Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Syed Munawar Hasan said on Saturday that terrorism could can not be eliminated easily as it was allowed to grow under the very wings of the government for the last five years.
According to reports, Syed Munawar Hasan said that the government had been providing logistical support to terrorism by including known terrorists‚ extortionists and criminals in the government, both at the centre and in Sindh, in the name of reconciliation.
He said terrorism was present even before the United States formally launched the war against terror.
“Today terrorism has become a full-blown tree. JI has been propounding that this is America’s war and we should take ourselves out of it but instead we gave the United States bases and other logistical support,” he said.
Syed Munawar Hasan said Pakistan had been holding a dialogue with the United States even after it had carried out aggression at Salala, “then why can we not hold talks with the Taliban”.
